Question 1: When add in a second card, DVR program can't record additional image.
Answer: This is caused by conflicting Data Base Index. When installing additional cards, it is necessary to remove and reassign the storage space so the DVR program can properly display and record the video data. To do this, first backup all important video data from the current storage disk. Then go into the DVR program¡¦s preference screen, delete the current storage space assignments. Close all DVR program, then delete all files inside the current storage folder, do not delete the files "location.hmi, mfile.ini, and path.hmi" (DVR program will not function properly without those 3 files). Reopen the DVR program, add the cleaned storage folder and make sure to assign all cameras to this folder or other desired folder. The DVR program should now work properly. If this does not fix the problem, follow the uninstall procedure to complete remove the DVR software then reinstall it again.

Answer: It is possible to run 32 channels on the same computer. However, due to limitation on current version of software, each DVR program can only open up to 16 channels. Therefore, to view 32 channels, it is required to use a special version of the DVR software which allows opening 2 DVR programs of 16 channels each. Furthermore, the PC will need to have dual monitor output capability in order to display one DVR program per screen for 16 + 16 channels display for a total of 32 channels. For further information and support on 32 channels display, please contact CCSG

Save and exit the file. Reopen DVR 2400 software, POS is now enabled.

Question 26: My DVR only record a few day of data, why is that?
Answer: The length of available recording depends on the size of the hard disk and the performance of the capture card. A 30/30 capture card set to non stop smart recording and records at 352x240 resolution outputs 5GB of data per day. Therefore, for a 16 channel 480/480 machine it records at (5GB/Day) x 16 = 80GB/Day, and with a 1TB hard drive it can only contain at most 1000GB / (80GB/Day) = 12.5 Day worth of data.
Question 27: My DVR does not record anymore, what is wrong with it? What do I do?
Answer: If the DVR program suddenly stop recording, it could be cause by the following reasons:

1. DVR settings changed.
2. Hard drive failed.
3. Corrupted data structure.

Hard drives in the DVR system often fail at a faster rate due to their harsh operating hours and environment. To find out if the hard drive failed, first close the DVR program and identify the manufacturer of the hard drive. Visit the HD manufacturer's website to download the free diagnostic tool. Install and run the diagnostic tool. This process might take several hours depending on the capacity of the hard drive. If the hard drive passes the test, remove then add the hard drive back into the DVR program. If it failed, contact your supplier or manufacturer for replacement.

The data structure of the DVR system can be corrupted by improper installation or removal of the DVR software or other invalid DVR related operations. When this happens, back up all the important data from the hard drive, then remove the hard drive from the DVR program. Close the DVR program and reformat the Hard Drive.
